| Question: What is the approved status of the college? |
|
| Answer: SGT Dental College is an approved institute as per the rules of the Dental Council of India and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. |

| Question: When does the BDS course start, and what is the duration of the course? |
|
| Answer: The BDS course at this institution starts from August/September every year. It takes 5 years to complete the course, including internship. |
|
| Question: What examinations does the student have to appear in? |
|
| Answer: The course comprises Professional Examinations conducted by the Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, at the end of each academic year, which include two theory papers, viva voice examinations and practical/ clinical examinations in each subject. Prior to this, the college conducts mid-term & internal assessment examinations twice during the academic year along similar lines as the university examinations. |

| Question: What is the vacation schedule of the college? |
|
| Answer: The usual college break during summer is for a duration of 2 weeks in the month of June, and during winter for the some period at the end of December. However, clinical duties during senior years continue and there is usually no official break during these periods. |

| Question: Is residence on campus compulsory? What are the hostel and mess facilities for resident students? |
|
| Answer: No. The college does not make it compulsory for students to take up hostel accommodation. Day scholars are also welcome. Hostel residents are accommodated in separate hostels for boys and girls. Rooms have attached baths with geysers installed. A common mess for resident students as well as faculty provides hygienic vegetarian food. In addition, one can have food of one's own choice at the cafeteria within the campus against payment. |

| Question: What about security? |
|
| Answer: Strict vigil is maintained on the campus 24 hours everyday by 20 specially trained private security guards, to prevent any untoward incident. Arrivals and departures are monitored and recorded at all times for security reasons. The campus is very safe even at night, Special attention is paid towards the security of girl students. |

| Question: How are the relations between students and teachers? |
|
| Answer: All efforts are made towards maintaining a friendly and cordial atmosphere between students and teachers. Academics and discipline on campus are the major points of focus. Regular parent-teacher interaction sessions are also called and parents are notified of the same well in advance. Parents can also meet specific faculty members with prior appointment. |

| Question: What happens in case of a problem or an emergency? |
|
| Answer: In case of any illness, the hospital facilities are available for students at all times of the day & night. Parents are notified simultaneously. The management and faculty has a highly interactive approach to students' welfare and emergencies are tackled on a war footing basis by senior administrators. The college is within range of both Delhi and Haryana mobile networks and communication is never a problem. |

Answer: Following the completion of the BDS Course, the candidates will have appeared
in the PMT Haryana Examination or the exam conducted by any organization authorized
by state admission committee Haryana. |

Question: What about the security in the College & Campus? |
|
|
Answer: A 24 hours round the year security system has been devised employing the
services of private security service agencies. |

Question: Does the institution have any collaboration, affiliation with a foreign
university? |
|

Answer: In the early half of this year, following the immense initiative of our senior
faculty, we were able to obtain an affiliation with The University of Detroit, School
of Dentistry, Michigan, for the following specialties;
- Periodontology
- Oral Medicine
- Oral Pathology
And we aim to benefit our students further via frequent student exchange programs. |

Question: What is the Examination schedule for the PG Program? |
|
|
Answer: We proposed to have the first university examination at the end of 1st year
& the final university examination at the end of Final year of the PG Course.
Interspersed would be regular internal assessments as devised by the respective Head
of the Department. |

Question: What are the Library and Internet access facilities available in the
college? |
|
|
Answer: Our Library is replete with latest Journals, Periodicals & books in all hall
specialties. Besides the central library, all the departments are equipped with their
own individual departmental libraries. We are proud to boast of 24 hours internet
access through the wi-fi facility in the college campus to propel our faculty and
students towards research without any hurdles. |
