With the initiative of Dr. Vasudha of pcd department and Mr. Ashok From the administration, a visit of the sarpanches of surrounding villages to sgt dental college and hospital was organized on 28.04.2007 The idea behind the event was to bridge the gap between the villagers and the college and appraise the people about availing the medical and dental treatment and other facilities provided by sgt dental college and hospital.

Total 57 sarpanches of various villages were invited, out of which There was a good turnout of 32 sarpanches along with other representative members of the villages.

The programme started at around 10.30 am with the arrival of various sarpanches with a small introductory speech and slideshow presentation by Ms Sumita (intern). Who told the guests about:

1. The various camps organized by the college at various places like heli mandi, Dhanwapur etc.
2. Various major surgeries undertaken in the college hospital
3. Various Cultural and sports activities taking place in the college from time to time

This was followed by light breakfast served to the guests.

Following the breakfast, the visitors were taken up for a round throughout the college by the interns of pcd department (Sachin, Deepika, Manisha and Sumita.)

Various querries regarding the academics were cleared by the interns.

After this a meeting was held between the visitors and the various Senior doctors of the college.

The college in the past has been providing quality health care in the rural areas by sending there buses for the pick up and drop of patients providing free medical and dental care.

The sarpanches expressed their gratefulness for this effort put forth by the college. They also expressed their views in how they were benefited in the past and assured greater help in the days to come.

Various complaints of the visitors were taken up by the senior Doctors and the visitors were enlightened about the various Diseases prevalent in the surrounding areas and their Prevention and treatment available in the college.

The visitors drew doctor’s attention towards some of their problems which the latter assured to take care of in the future.

The Programme ended with lunch in honor of the visiting guests.
